Creating a motivational environment is probably the single most important ingredient in business. Shared vision, enthusiasm and genuine kindness are retention factors for employees and translate directly to your client base.

Being a former employee of a female bully, I will say that she is the poster child for bad behavior in the workplace. All management should be required to take interpersonal relationship classes.

i can only recommend to pay employees according to their performance. this will make them feeling a sense of ownership and increase their motivation to work. i made very good experiences with this approach.

We mention the value of programs like six sigma in the book -- we don't think the specific program is as essential as the importance of introducing a problem solving culture and a process by which issues can be openly aired and responded to.

All of these concepts of Leading with "Kindness" are obviously logical. They seem to play in quite well with Pavlov's dog and creating a comfortable work environment with encouragement and praise versus one where employees are beaten with a stick. My thought would be where did the idea of "Six Sigma" management go or where is it today -- and then wouldn't Leading with Kindness fit quite nicely into this scheme of management and corporate culture?
