I just wanted to drop you guys a note to tell you that I was literally "blown away" by your movie. I was riveted; to the point that when you finally got to see the will.. I just lost it. Thank god my wife was asleep!

It was almost healing to see two men just set their minds on something worthy -and adventurous- and then see it through. Rare these days. Very rare. You had the cameras with you, but I am not sure if you understood how many people you would be taking along with you!

Thank you.

You guys are my heroes, delivering the message of "global connection" in the best way possible! Having been in community based tourism work for years (and working around some of the leaders in "Adventure Travel" - like Sobek), I can only say you put the whole lot in the Travel biz. to shame. The purity in intention of your whole expedition - just took my breath away. WOW.

I dropped out of art school my senior semester in 1971 and traveled overland for a year from London to Ceylon and back . Upon my return to the "real" world I finished school and returned on a solo journey overland again through Turkey to Afghanistan where I lived for 6 months and visited Balkh and Bamian. I am an artist for a living and still love to travel. I think they would've killed me if I was a woman traveling like you did in those Muslim countries. There were many times I felt that my being a woman precluded me from doing more adventurous things like you have. I remain eternally optimistic and enthusiastic about life and its possibilites. I feel we are kindred spirits....

I have two words for you both THANK YOU!! You guys are awesome and truly an inspiration. All of your determination, persistence and dedication throughout your trip seems so surreal to the life in comparison to what is out there waiting to be explored and discovered. My spouse nor I could step away from the television until a commercial came on. We love everything about history. For years we talked about going on an expedition and travel around the world, but we ended up starting our family. Since we are not able to go out and have one of our own, we would like to say thank you again for bringing it to us. Keep up your good work, efforts and achievements. We look forward to seeing your next adventures.

Dear Francis and Denis,
Thank you so much for presenting your adventures to my third grade class. My students (as well as all the teachers present) were mesmerized by your travels. Your presentation was wonderful executed and very child-centered. I really appreciated your visit and hope that you can come visit our class again next year!
Best,
Elizabeth Anderson

Denis and Francis gave a superb presentation to two 3rd grade classes in the school at which I teach. The students were mesmerized, and the explorers gave a phenomenal account. They pitched their talk perfectly for the audience, and were so patient with the many questions from the children. There story and images speak to so many issues: geography, cultural diversity, history, ethnography, trade, language, the nature of long-distance exploration, among many others. It was especially interesting to see how much their reception by local cultural groups depended on what they ate and wore. Bravo and thank you to Denis and Francis. We all look forward to seeing you annually for third-grade visits; and are working on extending this incredible opportunity to other grades and divisions.
