March 1, 2004 marked the 100th anniversary of Glenn Miller’s birth. THE GLENN MILLER SPECTACULAR celebrates the occasion held in the popular bandleader’s honor at the world-renowned Manhattan Center Ballroom. Featuring the music of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, under the direction of the legendary Larry O’Brien, the concert special includes all the big band’s greatest hits, from “Moonlight Serenade” and “Tuxedo Junction” to “In The Mood,” one of the most popular songs of the 20th century. The performances are interspersed with archival footage and photographs of Miller and his band during their heyday, and hundreds of fans cutting a rug.
