World-renowned cruising couple Lin and Larry Pardey, who have sailed over 185,000 miles, take viewers on their exciting ocean escapades to Southern Africa, Brazil and Ireland. The film follows the intrepid couple on a voyage of a lifetime that will whet anyone’s appetite for the life-enriching possibilities offered by cruising. From campfire evenings with Kalahari Bushmen and days of animal-watching at waterholes far from game reserves in southern Africa to island cruising south of Rio, and finally north to Ireland’s shores, the Pardeys enjoy a summer of history, classic sailing, Irish music, and new friendships. Shot on board their 29-foot, 9-inch, engineless wooden cutter Taleisin, as well as on location at their home base in New Zealand and in three other continents, the episode breaks down the basics for nautical novices with practical lessons on how to go beyond the shores of the world’s oceans and explore local cultures. Tory Salvia, President of The Sailing Channel, hosts.

Great video. The Pardeys are a truely inspirational couple who gave us the sailing bug many years ago.
Lin and Larry were my new friends while building their current cutter.
They inspired me to be brave enough to try the ‘Cruising Life”
and take my sloop to the Caribbean. God bless them for that!!!
Wonderful video. The freedom of sailing and the people you meet, what could be better.
Hi.
Can anyone give me a hint on how to watch this on a slow connection. On YouTube I can pause the video and watch it without glitches after it’s fully loaded, but that doesn’t work here.
