Host Tory Salvia, President of The Sailing Channel, and his son, Jon, prepare to set sail on their family boat, while Tory introduces a unique video that expresses the joy and wonder of sailing through an original musical score and inspirational poetry. Dancing With the Wind tells the story of a two-day cruise along Florida’s central Gulf coast. The boat is Wind Ketcher, a classic Tom Gilmer-designed, 1976 Allied Seawind ketch with an Atlantic crossing under her keel. Her skipper is Ed Verner, a professional composer and musician. Wind Ketcher glistens and gleams across the waves, dancing with the wind to Ed’s melodies. Poetic narrative and gorgeous photography enhance the voyage as viewers sail through fair weather and squalls with Ed’s music and words matching the moods of the sea. Returning to port, Ed’s dance with the wind ends in the golden glow of a Florida sunset. 30 minutes. ST and CC.
