Sailing Channel Theater

Sundays at 1 p.m.

WLIW21 announces the exclusive broadcast premiere of Sailing Channel Theater, a new production from TheSailingChannel.TV, and the only television series of its kind. Premiering Sunday, July 5 at 1 p.m. on WLIW21, the half-hour series will feature classic and critically acclaimed films that capture the magic and adventure of sailing.

In the season opener, Cruising Has No Limits, legendary cruising couple Lin and Larry Pardey, who have sailed over 185,000 miles, will take viewers on their exciting ocean escapades to Southern Africa, Brazil and Ireland. The film follows the intrepid couple on a voyage of a lifetime that will whet anyone’s appetite for the life-enriching possibilities offered by cruising. Shot on board their engineless Taleisin, and on location at their home base in New Zealand and in three other continents, Cruising breaks down the basics for nautical novices with practical lessons on how to go beyond the shores of the world’s oceans and explore local cultures.

Future episodes of Sailing Channel Theater will feature stories covering all aspects of maritime culture, including famous seafaring personalities and rarely-told nautical history.

My brother and I could taste the salt from my living room
He wants to get his feet wet.
Please keep the sailing shows coming, and repeat them often.
Thanks. Joe & Luie M.

Is there a specific day and time for The Sailing Channel presentations that I could set my recorder to?

Thanks again for a great adventure with the Pardeys. I look forward to other sailing programs!

This web page indicates that the Sailing Channel Theater airs on Sundays at 1:00 PM on WLIW21. However, on my Time Warner cable directory for next Sunday, August 2, 2009 I find something about railroads – not the Sailing Channel Theater. How can I find out where and when this show airs?
Thanks

Will this be available on directv, any time soon?

Is the “Sailing Channel Theater” being shown on DirecTV? I’ve searched for the show but haven’t been able to find it. Please advise.

My husband and I would really enjoy this series, is it on DirecTV in California? If so, what channel is it on?

I haven’t seen the program yet but am excited that WLIW is going to carry it. I think sailing oriented programing can be successful and plan to watch. Of course, on Sunday at 1PM I hope to be out sailing but I’ll record it.

I enjoy the shorts that you are presenting on the web and was wondering, like the rest of those responding, if it is airing on the pbs in Miami Floridia area.

Today I saw a lyrical episode about the pure joys of going for a sail, but was unable to locate more information about the boat, crew or episode on my PBS station web site or that of The Sailing Channel. Please remedy this. Following the episode I loved was one about a Canadian couple who are long range cruisers exploring the I found this episode a bore. It was about ozo, not sailing. Others do travelogues better.

You can find more information about Dancing With The Wind at http://www.thesailingchannel.tv/dwtw. This is a unique documentary, since it began strictly as a music video. The Allied Seawind skipper, Ed Verner, is also a professional musician/composer. In the version we’ve aired, Ed has added a poetic narrative to compliment his musical score.
