I saw your show last night. I have a 28yr old daughter who is being released from the hospital this Friday. She still seems very angry with me and I would like to find a support group for myself in the NYC area. ty

God bless you, Miss Patty Duke; bless you, bless you, BLESS YOU. You share your life so generously, and you will NEVER know (in this lifetime) how many lives you touch…. When I think of the young woman who must have stayed in bed thinking that her search for help was hopeless, and how she turned the tables on this insidious mental health problem and made her life so very, very important, ineffably unique, and unquestionably invaluable, it overwhelms me…. I trust you’ll understand when I say this to you, even though I don’t know you personally — I feel so incredibly proud of you. I don’t know exactly why — I just do. When I was listening to you on WLIW, I welled up with tears many times, and beamed with pride at your honest beauty — maybe folks who share similar problems like ours have a sort of kinship, I don’t know…. But whatever it is, allow me to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you’ve done for the world, Miss Patty Duke; you willingly and bravely entered a pitch black room, where hundreds of thousands of us had been milling around in the abject darkness, and you turned on a powerful beam that rivals the sun…. And you will never truly know just how much you’ve done for the world. God BLESS you for accepting His offer to shine so brightly!!!
