Peter, Bethany & Rufus: Spirit of Woodstock

Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary returns to Woodstock, NY to perform with soulful folk jazz duo Bethany & Rufus, featuring Yarrow’s daughter Bethany and virtuoso cellist Rufus Cappadocia. Together the three musicians revisit the Woodstock of Peter’s youth, musically and historically, visiting his long-abandoned summer home, and singing about the music of spirit and conscience that inspires them, individually and collectively. Filmed summer 2007 at Bearsville Theatre before an audience of local families and children, the special’s deeply moving tributes to the music of the 1960s are balanced by moments of hilarity. As folk classics "Puff, The Magic Dragon" and "Blowin’ in the Wind" meet Bethany & Rufus’ blend of contemporary jazz, groove, roots and world music, Peter is pulled into the vitality of both generations’ music, and comes full circle to celebrate his dream, now continued and transformed by the next generation.
