8/9/2010 UPDATE: Guitars no longer available. Thank you for your support!
Grammy Award-winning rocker Peter Frampton autographed two Les Paul electric guitars, donated by Gibson, to support WLIW21’s broadcast of Wolfgang’s Vault Presents Day on the Green 1977, premiering Saturday, August 14 at 8 p.m. Donate now to snag one — available online only.
Peter Frampton explains why he supports public television and you should too:
Recorded July 2, 1977 and locked away in the archives of legendary promoter Bill Graham ever since, Wolfgang’s Vault Presents Day on the Green 1977 features performances by Peter Frampton and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The concert captures Frampton at the height of the fan frenzy that followed his record-breaking 1976 album Frampton Comes Alive, which made him a household name and remains one of the top-selling live albums of all time. His charismatic performance features hits “Baby I Love Your Way,” “Show Me the Way” and “Do You Feel Like We Do.”
“I saw this video for the first time recently in my kitchen, and I couldn’t believe it! It brings back great memories of a great time,” said Peter Frampton of the public television program.

This extraordinary concert event has been sealed within Wolfgang’s Vault and is now available for the first time exclusively through public television as the new broadcast special and DVD, Wolfgang’s Vault Presents Day on the Green 1977, as part of WNET.ORG’s landmark Public Television Rocks! initiative. The concert premieres nationwide on public television throughout August and September (check local listings or contact your local station).
“Public Television Rocks! is all about bringing audiences unique music content and experiences that are not available anywhere else. WNET worked with Bill Graham in the 70s so we jumped at the chance to work with Wolfgang’s Vault,” said Joshua C. Nathan, Vice President of Business Development and Institutional Strategy at WNET.ORG. “Music fans are hungry for this kind of television programming. We are thrilled to co-present this classic summer concert by Peter Frampton and Lynyrd Skynyrd for the first time ever.”
Wolfgang’s Vault is the world-renown online archive of vintage concert recordings dedicated to live music, which since 2003 has provided over 3,500 concert audio recordings streamed free. With this public television special and DVD, Wolfgang’s Vault opens its long-awaited Video Vault, giving music fans worldwide access to thousands of great concert videos from the past five decades.
Bill Sagan, CEO of Wolfgang’s Vault, noted: “We are thrilled to be working with these performers to share these great recordings in support of public television. WNET.ORG and WLIW21 have been great co-producers to ensure music fans across the country can experience this show.”
