PBS presents three new concert specials this June: jazz/classic pop from 16-year-old singer/prodigy Nikki Yanofsky; R&B/adult contemporary from singer Will Hedgecock; and Broadway hits from English singer/actress Elaine Paige.

Nikki Yanofsky: Live in Montreal
Millions of people were first introduced to 16-year-old singer/prodigy Nikki Yanofsky when she performed during the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.  To Canadian audiences, however, Nikki is already a famous and accomplished singer, beginning her career at 14 as the hit of the Montreal Music Festival, and recently reaching triple platinum sales of Canada’s #1 selling single: “Dare to Dream.”

Experience her unique blend of jazz, classic pop and original songs in her first PBS special, shot in high definition at the legendary Mercure Theatre in Montreal.

Will Hedgecock: Live from the Saenger
From timeless R&B and adult contemporary standards to classical and doo wop, Will Hedgecock performs with members of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and Nashville vocalists at the historic and newly renovated Saenger Theater in downtown Pensacola, Florida. Hedgecock began singing with the renowned Pensacola Children’s Chorus when he was eight years old and traveled all over the world as the chorus’ lead singer – even performing at the White House. Recorded September 2009, Hedgecock’s PBS concert shows why he is the voice of a new generation of exceptional new performers.

Elaine Paige: Celebrating a Life Onstage
Elaine Paige is an English singer and actress best known for her work in musical theatre. She made her first professional appearance on stage in 1964 and her appearance in the 1968 production of Hair marked her West End debut.

Following a number of roles over the next decade, Paige was selected to play Eva Peron in the first production of Evita in 1978 for which she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Performance of the Year in a Musical; went on to originate the role of Grizabella in Cats and had a Top 10 hit with “Memory;” and released “I Know Him So Well” with Barbara Dickson from the musical Chess, which remains the biggest-selling record by a female duo.

Filmed in 2009 at the State Theatre in Sydney, Australia, during her sell-out 40th anniversary tour, Elaine Paige: Celebrating a Life Onstage takes you on a journey from her beginnings in the musical Hair to performances from Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chess, Cats, Sunset Boulevard, and many more from the West End to Broadway. Elaine also entertains with amusing and enlightening anecdotes from her illustrious career.
