This week, Bill Miller, Legg Mason’s legendary value investor, returns to Consuelo Mack WealthTrack in an exclusive TV interview. The Legg Mason Capital Management Opportunity Trust mutual fund portfolio manager tells WealthTrack Anchor and Managing Editor Consuelo Mack where he is investing now and remains bullish on the stock market for 2013, as he was, correctly, for 2012.
This episode of Consuelo Mack WealthTrack premieres Friday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. on WLIW21.
Hosted by Rafael Pi Roman, this episode of Treasures of New York recounts the untimely demise and rebuilding of the New York State Capitol building, a landmark that took 32 years, 25 million dollars, five architects and 11 state governors to create.
The New York State Capitol premieres December 5 at 7 p.m. on WLIW2. Watch a preview:
This November, Treasures of New York features the series’ very first Long Island “treasure,” the Amagansett Life-Saving Station, which has been a unique centerpiece of Long Island history since it was built in 1902. Premiering tonight at 7:30 p.m., anchor and managing editor Consuelo Mack and influential financial historian James Grant (Grant’s Interest Rate Observer) discuss why the Federal Reserve’s policies of zero interest rates and massive purchases of U.S. Treasury and mortgage-backed bonds are dangerous to the economy and damaging to savers.
In collaboration with The Real Deal, Treasures of New York: Building Stories reveals the private life and the creative process of Costas Kondylis, an architect who has arguably done more to directly influence the city’s skyline than any other person currently active in New York — business tycoons, major developers and mayors included. The film follows Kondylis’ career and shows the battle between artistic expression and the bottom line, and gives a critical examination of what it takes to design a building and gain its approval in the high-powered world of New York City real estate.
The film features development moguls Donald Trump, Larry Silverstein, and Aby Rosen; founding editor of Dwell magazine, Karrie Jacobs; architecture critics and historians, James Gardner, Francis Morrone, and Kenneth Frampton; and Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Meier.
Building Stories is produced by Amir Korangy, directed by Toni Comas, and written by Stuart Elliott of The Real Deal magazine.
Treasures of New York: Building Stories premieres Wednesday, May 2 at 7 p.m. on WLIW21 and Sunday, May 6 at 7 p.m. on THIRTEEN.

In Pedro Ruiz: Coming Home, acclaimed choreographer Pedro Ruiz returns to his native Cuba for a collaboration with Cuba’s premiere modern dance troupe, Danza Contemporanea de Cuba, to create a dance about Cuba, after receiving special permission from both the U.S. and Cuban governments.
As much a personal journey as a professional one, Ruiz visits his hometown, Santa Clara, for the first time in 30 years, and is reunited with his godfather and his childhood best friend. Likewise, when the dancers come to New York City for their first-ever trip to the United States, they express their feelings about a country most thought they would never have the chance to see.
MI-5, the award-winning intelligence drama about the British Security Service, returns with Richard Armitage (“Robin Hood” UK TV series, “Mystery! Miss Marple”) joining the cast as MI-5 officer Lucas North.
In a world where Russia is rapidly emerging as a new superpower and where Islamist terrorism is still a real threat, the MI-5 team finds itself operating in the most testing, unsettled and frightening of times – the beginning of a new Cold War – as season 7 enters into classic espionage territory.
Season 7 premieres on Wednesday, September 21 at 9 p.m. on WLIW21.
MI-5 has garnered a devoted following on WLIW21 since its 2009 premiere. As with EastEnders in the past, WLIW21 is calling on fans and viewers to save this British favorite by making a donation.
For many people around the globe, America symbolizes a certain freedom — a land of choice. 9/11: First Responders is a tribute to the thousands who made a life or death choice. A handful of those thousands recount their stories here, with admirable candor, humility and, sometimes, humor. They are our neighbors, our colleagues, our friends and family, who came to the attacked twin towers on the morning of September 11, 2001 and chose to stay. These exceptional human beings challenge all of us to rise to a higher level of selflessness. They truly embody the concept “home of the brave.”
On the tenth anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks, we acknowledge the thousands from our city and our country who came to help. Whether they pulled colleagues from the rubble, massaged the weary backs of the rescuers, or supported the spiritually broken, they continue to re-live these events in a way unique to those who witness history. One of the volunteers we see here puts it quite eloquently: “The strength of this country is its people and its compassion.”
The women and men who made the choice to work at ground zero live with the emotional and physical scars of that choice each day. They offer us hope for future generations to work as a community. It’s up to us to make sure they are not forgotten.
9/11: First Responders airs on WLIW on September 11, 2011 at 9:00-10:00 p.m. and September 13, 2011 at 1:00-2:00 a.m. The documentary is a co-production of WLIW21 and is hosted by actress S. Epatha Merkerson.
