Firing Line with Margaret Hoover Joins the WLIW-FM Lineup Beginning November 7
(Southampton, New York) WLIW-FM, Long Island’s only NPR station, has announced the addition of Firing Line with Margaret Hoover to its program schedule. Hosted by author, political commentator and Suffolk County part-time resident Margaret Hoover, the program showcases an exchange of ideas about the most important issues facing our democracy today to audiences nationwide each week on PBS. The audio version of the half-hour discussion program known for its news-breaking interviews premieres Sunday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m. on 88.3 WLIW-FM and wliw.org/radio. An extended version of each week’s program is also available as a podcast at https://www.wliw.org/radio/podcasts/.
Firing Line with Margaret Hoover debuted in June 2018 and is now in its fourth season on PBS. The series launches on WLIW-FM with a conversation with author and political commentator Andrew Sullivan. Upcoming guests include Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei and Sen. Tim Scott, R-SC.
The show maintains the character of the original William F. Buckley Jr. series, providing a platform that is diligent in its commitment to a balanced exchange of opinion. Firing Line’s impactful interviews with guests, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Michael Bloomberg, Susan Rice, Adam Schiff, Kirsten Gilibrand and Yo-Yo Ma, have been covered hundreds of times by major print, television and online media outlets.

Margaret Hoover has served in The White House, in the Department of Homeland Security, on Capitol Hill and on two presidential campaigns. A CNN political commentator, she is the bestselling author of American Individualism: How a New Generation of Conservatives Can Save the Republican Party (2011).
