Behind the Headlines premieres on LTV and Sun20 TV beginning January 17.

LTV will air Behind the Headlines Mondays at 10 p.m.; Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.; Wednesdays at 6 p.m.; and Thursdays at 6 a.m. Sun20 TV will air the program Mondays and Thursdays at 7 p.m.; Tuesdays at 8 p.m.; and Wednesdays at 10 p.m.

Providing analysis of the latest local and regional and cultural issues, Behind the Headlines is hosted by Express News Group editors Bill Sutton and Joseph P. Shaw. To bring listeners a diversity of perspectives, voices and views, each week Sutton and Shaw host a rotating panel of esteemed guest journalists and colleagues, from a robust collection of East End, Long Island, and regional news and public affairs outlets. Behind the Headlines airs Saturdays at 10 a.m. on WLIW-FM and is available to stream on-demand at wliw.org/radio.

“We are pleased to extend Behind the Headlines to television audiences on Long Island,” said Diane Masciale, Vice President & General Manager of WLIW21 and WLIW-FM. “Collaboration with our fellow local media organizations allows us to deepen our reach in the community and connect Long Islanders to the important coverage wherever they’re consuming content.”

“The East End is lucky to have some of the best community news outlets in the entire country, and we’re proud to partner with WLIW-FM and now LTV and Sun20 TV to bring these expert voices in the field of local journalism to viewers and listeners across the region,” said Express News Group co-publisher Gavin Menu. Behind the Headlines focuses on important issues that really matter to residents and visitors of the East End, and the partnership with our local TV outlets just furthers the important goals of community journalism — to inform and educate as many people as possible about issues that affect their daily lives.”

“This show is both timely and local. Each week Behind the Headlines is presenting stories and issues that are impacting our community. LTV loves to be able to help drive that important information forward with WLIW. It’s a perfect fit,” said Michael D. Clark, Executive Director of LTV.

“SUN20 TV is pleased to join with WLIW-FM to bring this thought-provoking round-table discussion to our viewers,” said SUN20 TV Executive Director Connie Conway. Behind the Headlines will give our Southampton audience an in-depth look and perspective from the reporters and editors who cover some of the stories making news in our community and beyond.”
