As of Thursday, August 1 at 1 p.m., WLIW21 will have a channel switch over. Antenna users will have to rescan their televisions; cable and satellite viewers are not affected.
This follows the broadcast spectrum auction, when the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) authorized a repack of television band by assigning television stations to new broadcast frequencies. Viewers that watch WLIW (and other local stations) with free, over-the-air television using an antenna will be affected by this repack.
To continue watching WLIW21, Create, World and ALL ARTS over-the-air, you must rescan your tuner or television after 1 p.m. on August 1, 2019. It’s the same scan that television owners must do to find local channels when setting up a TV or converter box for the first time. If needed, contact the manufacturer of your television for help.
