Stella first won the hearts of public television viewers in the documentary Stella is 95!. Filmmaker Robin Melanie Leacock casts her mother once more in Stella & Co.: A Romantic Musical Comedy Documentary About Aging, an uplifting portrait of charismatic people in their 80s, 90s, and 100s, who are brilliant experts on aging.

Stella Craig, who says she is “103 and a half,” is a former reporter and radio host from a time when married women were expected to stay home and care for their husbands. Now Stella and her friends share an uplifting perspective on life and how to best enjoy longevity and happiness.

There’s Maury, 102, who invented the first contact lens; Gerson, a poet who at 96 hopes to be included in Maury’s planned ‘120 Club;’ Myra, the former fashion designer who won’t reveal her age but shares invaluable secrets to living the best life; Margaret, known as “Spike,” whose career included top secret work at NASA; one of Stella’s boyfriends who claims to have invented the ‘cha cha,’ and more colorful characters who have lessons for any person about gratitude, positive outlook, and the power of a daily walk, with humor and a couple of songs thrown in for good measure.

Stella Craig didn’t accept societal limitations on what women should do and became a journalist and radio host.
