Environment Positions of Congressional District Candidates: October 13 Event
Candidates for the 1st Congressional District – U.S. Representative Lee Zeldin, 40, (R-Shirley) and challenger Nancy Goroff, 52, (D-Stony Brook) – participated in a virtual Q&A and panel hosted by the Citizens Campaign for the Environment, Students for Climate Action, and the New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund.
Each candidate answered five questions about greenhouse gas, offshore wind, solar investment tax credits, fossil fuels, and clean water.
Debates for 1st Congressional District Candidates
U.S. Representative Lee Zeldin (Republican) and Democratic challenger Nancy Goroff participated in a a debate hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons, Shelter Island & The North Fork on Monday, October 19, at 7 p.m.
The Zeldin and Goroff will have a second debate on Monday, October 26, hosted by the Express News Group. There will be approximately 100 virtual “tickets” available for the event, free of charge, on a first-come-first-served basis. RSVP here.

New York State Senate Debate: October 20
Democratic candidate Laura Ahern and Republican candidate Anthony Palumbo are vying to replace retiring New York State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle. They met for a League of Women Voters debate on Tuesday, October 20, at 7 p.m.
