Giulia D’agnolo Vallan, Sag Harbor Cinema
SHC’s artistic director comes on-air with Gianna Volpe in support of WLIW-FM during the Chairman’s Challenge matching all donations dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 to WLIWFM.org. D’agnolo Vallan talks about how invaluable it is for the East End to have an NPR affiliate in its own backyard. She tells the story of how an anonymous donor made a sizable contribution to the theater after her last appearance on WLIW-FM after letting the listeners know proceeds of ticket sales for the screening of Ukrainian filmmaker Sertgei Loznitsa’s “Maidan” would benefit St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead before dishing deets on some of the films and folks up for an Academy Award ahead of this Sunday’s SHC Oscars watch party where attendees will be able to cast ballots for a prize.
