American Grooves Radio Hour, hosted by Joe Lauro, takes a deep dive into the music that America was listened to in the years before World War Two. It will focus on the hot Jazz, pioneering Blues, iconic Country, rousing Gospel, witty Vaudeville and diverse World Music which was being performed on the streets and in the taverns by new arrivals from all over Europe, Asian and South America. Original 78 rpm records from Joe’s vast archive and the collections of other notable collectors will be the exclusive format played on the program. Besides the music, stories will be shared of the forgotten performers who made the records as well as fascinating stories of how the recordings were re-discovered by the pioneering collectors who “canvased” the country in search of the elusive records.
