It took six weeks but it’s now finally official. NYC Council Member Ritchie Torres is the winner of the Democratic Congressional primary in the 15th district after beating out 11 opponents in June’s pandemic election. The Bronx district is overwhelmingly blue so Council Member Torres will almost certainly be heading to Washington next year. If he does, he’ll become the first openly gay Afro-Latino member of Congress. But what will his agenda be if and when he makes it to the Capitol? Why is he already making waves in Washington before even setting foot there? And what can we learn from the election chaos he just experienced? He joins us.
